Flame tree leaf with insect tracks
Description
The leaf is from an Illawarra flame tree (Brachychiton acerifolius), a large rainforest tree found on the east coast of Australia. (The spent flowers underneath are also from the same tree.) The tracks are made by leaf miners, the larvae of insects.
Photographed in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
