About
I take photos mostly of nature in the Illawarra, south of Sydney in Australia: landscapes big and small; forests and woodlands; seascapes; plants; fungi; birds and other animals; and so on.
I started entering photography competitions in 2021, and since then I have received a number of awards (see https://www.flickr.com/people/155486166@N05/). Highlights include winning several awards in the International Garden Photographer of the Year Competition, 17th edition (https://igpoty.com/profiles/keith-horton/), winning the International Shelton Snowdrops Photography Competition (https://www.sheptonsnowdrops.org.uk/competitions/2024-photography-competition/2024-winners-photography/18-over/), and receiving a Gold Medal (winner) in the 10th Australian Photographic Society National Exhibition, Nature, Waterways & Wetlands category (https://apsnature.myphotoclub.com.au/).
My photos have also been exhibited at a number of locations around the world, including the Blank Wall Gallery in Athens (Greece), the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont (USA), and the Colorado Environmental Film Festival (USA).
My photographs have appeared in magazines such as Australian Photography Magazine, Outdoor Photographer (UK, issue 298), Professional Imagemaker (UK, issue 125), and Landscape Photography Magazine (USA, issue 150, p. 102). My photographs have also appeared on websites such as The Sunday Times (UK, February 04 2022) and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
